Gagie School Communication Plan
Mission
Provide families with the opportunity to access consistent and accurate school information from an official online source while limiting outbound marketing.
Communication Policy
All official school related communication must have the written approval of Dr. Gagie.
Online Calendar
Almost all school related activities and events are time/calendar based. It is important for us to keep an updated and detailed online calendar that is convenient to view by families and easy to update by the office staff.
Mass & Private Email
Our group/mass email communication is measured and thoughtful. It is essential that the important information we choose to share is not diluted with too many and/or repetitive emails to our school families. We do not open or encourage private email conversations.
Face-to-Face & Phone Calls
We try to communicate with our families in-person as much as possible. If it is not possible to communicate in-person the alternative is a private phone call. We try to remain as accessible as possible with an open door policy. We discourage private email conversations between teachers, families, parents, and/or students.
Social Media
We always try to be courteous and respectful with social media and encourage our students and families to do the same. We accept social media as a part of our modern society but insist on strict limitations during/for school related information.
Paper Communication
We try to limit the amount of paper communication by using our online calendar but will occasionally provide written materials to our students and families.
Feedback
We encourage continuous and direct feedback from our students, parents, and families by contacting Dr. Gagie directly or by providing anonymous submission on our website.
Time Considerations
We must never forget that our ultimate goal is to help each child discover and achieve his or her own potential and to become a very highly contributing member of society and citizen of the world. Therefore, our communication methods and support elements should be designed for ease of use and staff efficiency so that we are not distracted from teaching.
